QUARANTINE IN VIETNAM FOR FOREIGNERS: SCARY OR NOT?

Together with Vietnamese government, Royal Education thoroughly prepares our foreign teachers to protect themselves while travelling during the corona time. We look forward to welcoming you and other adventurers on this exciting journey.
In light of the COVID-19 outbreak, most countries worldwide, including Vietnam, have imposed several travel restrictions to combat the virus. At the same time, Vietnamese authorities have been taking swift and comprehensive measures to protect the population as well as transit visitors. The fruits of the well-rounded efforts have made the nation the #20 safest country for Coronavirus, according to Forbes. Together with the government, Royal Education thoroughly prepares our foreign teachers to protect themselves on their new journey to working in Vietnam.
Vietnam’s COVID-19 travel policies

To staunch the spread of COVID-19, Vietnam only grants entry to those foreign experts, and those travelling for official or diplomatic purposes, who must undergo medical checks and 14-day quarantine at their own cost upon arrival in Vietnam. The travellers are required to demonstrate a valid passport, visa and paperwork at the custom gate.

Fortnight quarantine in Vietnam

Once landed at Noi Bai Airport, the teachers must go through the disinfection process and health declaration to prepare for the next step – quarantine. Afterwards, they are immediately taken to the 5-star Muong Thanh hotel to start their 14-day isolation. To comply with the government’s health regulations, the hotel must disinfect all hard surfaces before and after they take the guests in. It is also obligatory for the staff to wear protective gears at the workplace.
Royal’s teachers are served 3 meals daily with an ideal mix of Western, Asian and Vietnamese varieties in separated boxes. On a twice-a-day basis, the healthcare staff comes and checks the body temperature of each individual. During this time, Royal’s teachers exercise, relax and network to beat the boredom. After a fortnight, we take them to the teachers’ dorm in Hanoi city. Luckily, it is truly our pleasure that we all receive positive feedbacks on the teachers’ quarantine experience.
The following video provides a brief but vivid picture about this unique “adventure”!
