2) Program specifications
a)Program duration:
• Semester 1: September 05th, 2020 – January 15th, 2021
• Semester 2: January 16th, 2021 – May 31st, 2021
Candidate is advised to arrive Hanoi, Vietnam 20 days earlier prior to the program start date for an orientation and teaching practice week.
b) Teaching Location: Schools in Hanoi
c) Teaching amount: Up to 80 hours per month
d) Teaching level:
From kindergarten up to junior high schools
e) Student age:
• Kindergarten: 3-5 years old
• Primary school: 6 – 11 years old
• Junior high school (secondary school): 12-15 years old
f) Teacher duties:
• Teaching conversational English to a range of classes for up to 20 face-to-face hours per week
• Student study assessment: testing and assessing students, writing comments on student study results, etc.
• Classroom administration (such as taking attendance, marking homework, reporting grades etc.)
• Preparation of teaching materials and lessons
• Attending meetings as required
• Participation in after-school activities such as English festivals, English contest, etc.

Candidate eligibility

Be fluent in English
Hold a University degree
To be a native English speaker with a passport from the UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, Australia or New Zealand
Be ready for an adventure teaching English abroad

TEFL Course

Candidate will need to be fully TEFL trained to teach English in Vietnam. We can organize and offer TEFL course for you when there is a need.

What will candidate need to organize?

Before you travel, there are a few things you need to sort. Keep things easy for yourself and don’t leave them ‘till the last minute!
International flights: You’ll need an arrival flight to Hanoi (HAN), let the departure flight opens.
Visa: $80 for single entry business visa. Subject to Embassy fees if purchased before departure.
Important original documents: your degree, police check and TEFL certification (you can get a TEFL certification in Vietnam if you have not got one)
Visa extension and work permit contribution: $250 payable in cash for BME.
Police check: You must carry a clean police check. Please consult your local police department in state or FBI (costs may vary).
Health check: $100 payable in cash in-country for BME to get a general health check in a Vietnamese hospital for work permit application
Budget: You’ll be on generous living allowance but you may need to cover costs for excursions, etc.
